Roma manager Rudi Garcia has claimed that the club will be trying to keep midfielder Miralem Pjanic beyond this season. Pjanic has been one of the best players in the Italian Serie A this season. He has been a real star within the Roma team that has managed to fight for the title alongside Juventus for most of the season. It is only after a 4-1 defeat against Hellas Verona that they surrendered the league title to the difference from Turin. Garcia has revolutionised Roma within 12 months of his available in the summer. He is now planning to prepare for next season, which will see the club return to Champions League group stages once again.

Ahead of the next season, Roma will be trying their best to keep Pjanic according to Garcia. The midfielder has been linked with big-money moves to the likes of Paris St Germain and Barcelona. They have been keeping tabs with him and are expected to come in with an offer on the former. Garcia will be aware that the success of the club has achieved this season will come at a cost in the summer, as a number of their players will be linked with moves. However, he is confident that the core of the players will be retained.

"I read what he said, but I saw it as a polite response to PSG, plus who doesn't like the way Barcelona play? I am very optimistic he will remain at Roma,” said the manager in response to Pjanic saying a few weeks ago that he would consider interest from such big clubs. Pjanic is expected to be offered a new contract at Roma in order to keep off interest from such big clubs. The entry of PSG will significantly alter the landscape due to their finances.
