OSVALDO FINED AND SUSPENDED

Roma have fined striker Pablo Osvaldo € 50,000 and have also suspended him from the club, after a bust up between him and teammate Erik Lamela.

Osvaldo is reported to have punched Lamela in the dressing room. They were in the dressing room following the 2-0 defeat at the hands of Udinese. Manager Luis Enrique has also said that the club should be taking immediate action over Pablo Osvaldo, whose actions have threatened to derail Roma's season.

After spending a large amount of money in the summer, Roma have had an indifferent start to the season. The currently lie eight points behind leaders Juventus. Finishing in the Champions League spot now seems to be the main aim for Roma, who are finally making a comeback after years of struggle with finances.

Pablo Osvaldo has been one of the main players leading the new revolution at Roma - he has been a consistent scorer this season and has caught the eye. He is the top scorer for Roma this season having scored five goals in the league. He arrived from Spanish side Espanyol, but has previous experience of playing in the Italian League from his time at Fiorentina.

Following the actions taken against Pablo Osvaldo, Roma's sporting director said, "There was a disrespectful gesture from Osvaldo towards a team-mate and, on request of the coach, the player will be punished."

As a result of the ban, Pablo Osvaldo will not be available to face his former club Fiorentina during the weekend. Fiorentina are struggling down the bottom end of the table just above the relegation zone. They have just one win in their last five matches, which would have been great news for Pablo Osvaldo, who has been in good goal scoring form.
