PJANIC HAILS TOTTI

AS Roma may be 7 points off the top of the table already, with just over a quarter of the season gone, but that doesn't mean that Bosnian international Miralem Pjanic has given up on getting into the Champions League next season! Far from it!

In spite of the former champions being 8th in the table at the time of writing, Roma have started to gel in recent weeks, and have begun playing the kind of fluid, attractive, attacking football we have become accustomed to over recent seasons. That it took them so long to start getting their act together will be a concern to the directors, but for now the players and staff are keen to keep up their upward trajectory.

Pjanic reckons that the team will benefit further from a return of club captain Francesco Totti. “Totti is a truly incredible teacher, and it's amazing to go to training and play with him on a daily basis. He is our leader, and I can't wait to have him back out on the pitch with us."

And he still believes that a top-three finish is realistic for Roma this season. "We can finish in the top three this season. Milan are the favourites for the title, but Roma are in there too. It will be a long season and can hopefully build on our recent matches to move towards the top. Obviously, we also have to take points off both Juventus and Napoli, who have both really impressed me this season.”
