Rudi Garcia remains confident on the team

Roma manager Rudi Garcia remains confident that the team will be able to finish the season on a strong note despite only managing a 1-1 draw against Torino.

Apart from the two dropped points, the club also witnessed their arch rivals Lazio overtake them in the Italian Serie A table. Lazio now lead Roma by a point with eight games left in the campaign. Aside from the point advantage, Lazio also have a significant advantage in terms of goal difference which will effectively translate into an advantage for the team currently ahead in the table.

After a string of bad results in March, Roma returned to winning ways with successes against Cesena and Napoli. However, this victories did not reflect on a strong team performance since they were very narrow 1-0 victories. Upcoming matches against Inter Milan and AC Milan will further test the team, but Garcia is remaining confident of an upturn in fortunes sooner rather than later. Garcia received a lot of praise for getting the club back into the Champions League, but there is a fear that the club may drop out of it in the same quick manner. Napoli in the fourth spot are seven points behind Roma having played the same number of matches.

"The race continues. It doesn't matter that Lazio are second, we'll see at the end of the season. We need to make the most of playing at home next. We put in a good performance, but just lacked a positive result. If we play our last eight matches like we did today we'll win a lot of them.We know that no-one will win all of their games between now and the end of the season," said Rudi Garcia. "Rudi Garcia is right, this is not the final result,” said the Lazio counterpart Stefano Pioli.
