BRADLEY HEADS HOME

As.Roma’s Michael Bradley is leaving the Italian club and joining the MLS with the Toronto being his next football destination. It has been already confirmed by the agent of Bradley as well as the head coach of Roma, as Rudi Garcia told reporters.

“Bradley wanted to go and we cannot keep hold of a player who doesn't want to be here,” Garcia told reporters after Thursday's 1-0 Italian Cup last-16 home win over Sampdoria. He has done very well for me over the last few months and I understand he wanted more playing time but when there is a midfield like ours it's hard to find spaces.”

Questions started floating around on why Bradley chose to make his move to the MLS so suddenly and a number of answers were given by the player himself and by the information and details that the transfer has answered on its own.

The midfielder believes that he can become an important player for Toronto FC and have more playing time than what he currently has in As.Roma. Bradley had a number of offers and clubs interested in securing his services but the MLS side managed to come out as the club he ultimately decided on joining with his new wages having a big role in his decision.

Bradley will be earning around six times what he was earning at the Italian club and while it still is not certain what the other clubs were offering to sign him up, it’s hard to believe that any other side would have the midfielder in such a high priority list that would even consider anyone offering such a staggering salary difference.

Toronto is also close on completing a move for Jermain Defoe as the MLS club is looking to sign players within a certain age range that would give the squad experience and still have a few more years left to play at a high level.
