EVERTON BOSS EYEING ROMA DEFENDER

Everton manager Carlo Ancelotti is keen on a summer transfer swoop on AS Roma defender Gianluca Mancini as he continues to build a strong squad capable of challenging the big teams in the Premier League. The interest of Carlo Ancelotti in AS Roma centre back Gianluca Mancini was revealed by Italian newspaper Leggo.

It was revealed that Everton boss Carlo Ancelotti is already looking at the players to sign in the summer to boost his squad ahead of next season and he has already identified Italian international Gianluca Mancini. Gianluca Mancini is a regular for AS Roma under manager Pablo Fonseca in the Italian Serie A. He has made 19 starts for the club this season, which is his second season at the StadioOlimpico.

Italian international defender Gianluca Mancini spent last season on loan at AS Roma from Italian Serie A rivals Atalanta before the move was made permanent in September 2020. He has a contract that runs until 2024 at AS Roma and Everton will have to pay a lot of money to sign him this summer.
Carlo Ancelottistrengthened his defence at the start of the season with the signing of Ben Godfrey from Norwich City, who were relegated from the Premier League last season. Ben Godfrey was a regular fixture in that Norwich City but Everton saw enough quality to pay £25m for him. Ben Godfrey has performed well as an Everton player since his big money move from the Canaries last year. Everton manager Carlo Ancelotti didn't sign any defender in the last transfer window last month as the only capture was in attack. Everton signed Norwegian international player Josh King on loan from English Championship club Bournemouth last month and he made his home debut during the disappointing 2-0 defeat at the hands of struggling Fulham at the weekend.
