Willian has so far failed to agree a new contract at Stamford Bridge and will leave as a free agent in June if that situation doesn’t change – he is already permitted to formally negotiate terms with overseas clubs by virtue of being in the last six months of his current deal.
The Stamford Bridge outfit have been known to offer only a year contract for players above 30, and it is reported that such offer is available to Willian, but the 31-year-old Brazilian is holding out for longer-term.
The player and the club have failed to reach a compromise and it is most likely Willian will leave at the end of his contract.
Willian came through the youth rank at Corinthians in Brazil, before moving to Europe in 2007, he signed a five year deal with Shakhtar Donetsk.
After a five year stay in Ukraine, he moved to Russia with Anzhi in the winter of 2013, he spent 6 months in Russia before moving to Chelsea in 2013 after they emerged from a three-way fight for the player.
