Rudi Garcia says that he has no plans to quit

Roma manager Rudi Garcia says that he has no plans to quit the Italian club after a poor campaign.

After several years of struggle to get back into the Champions League, it was Garcia who brought the club back into the European competition in his first season. Roma almost won the title back then, but the last season has been a very disappointing one. Apart from seeing the title challenge wither a long time ago, Garcia’s team finished just one point above arch rivals Lazio. The final difference between Roma and champions Juventus was an astonishing 17 points.
Despite this inconsistent campaign, Garcia says that he is looking forward to the next season at the Stadio Olimpico.

He is confident that Roma will come back stronger next season, while he is also proud of the achievements of this campaign. The fact that the club managed to stay in the European competition amidst intense pressure from Lazio and Napoli is a testament to the quality of players at the club. The second consecutive Champions League season is widely expected to improve the club finances in such a way that Roma will be able to sign significantly better players in the upcoming transfer window.

"The course of a season never runs smooth and we did have to negotiate a few rough moments. We have a fantastic group of players here. We all stuck together and that's what enabled us to finish second. Roma is one of the most exciting projects in European and world football but we can't get ahead of ourselves. Our overall assessment is that we came top of 'our' league. Juve are in a league of their own at the moment," said Garcia. The team almost conceded the second spot, which gives them direct access to the group stages of the Champions League.
