PATRICIO ‘AGREES TERMS’ WITH ROMA – REPORT

Wolves goalkeeper Rui Patricio has reportedly agreed personal terms with Italian Serie A club AS Roma as he closes in on a move to Italy. The news of the salary agreement with capital team Roma was revealed by Football Insider. It was reported that the Portuguese shot stopper has agreed to the three-year contract offered to him by Roma.

Roma have a new manager in the controversial Jose Mourinho and they are keen to bolster the playing squad with quality players for him to make a significant impact in the new season and Portugal national team shot stopper Rui Patricio is one of the quality transfer targets for the club.

Patricio has been a key player for Wolves since they secured promotion to the Premier League some years back. He was instrumental to the club's excellent debut season as Wolves finished in the European places. Wolves secured a top half finish in each of their first two seasons in the Premier League but they could not make it three seasons in a row after they ended last season in the bottom half of the table.

Wolves goalkeeper Rui Patricio has missed just two games in three seasons of Premier League football. He has played in 112 out of 114 league matches. Wolves would be looking to replace him with a quality replacement if he moves to Roma as expected. Olympiakos shot stopper Jose Sa has been targeted by Wolves to replace Patricio.Jorge Mendes is the agent of both Patricio and Sa. New Wolves boss Bruno Lage rated Sa highly. Lage is the man to lead Wolves beyond this summer after the club made him the replacement for NunoEspirito Santo.

Ex-Valencia boss Nuno was the catalyst behind Wolves’ promotion to the Premier League three years ago and he has been their manager until this summer when he left the club by mutual consent.
