ROMA CHASE VAN DER WIEL

Italian outfit, AS Roma join Monaco and West Ham to fight for PSG right back Gregory van der Wiel who will leave the club as a free agent at the end of next month.

According to reports, the player is still unsure of where to move to for the next campaign. The spielautomaten website speculated that he could end up in the Bundesliga, with Borussia Dortmund the most likely desitination.

The relationship between van der Wiel and his agent, Mino Raiola, is believed to be at the breaking point due to differences between both players regarding contract extension offers made by PSG. The back and forth over the contract talks has been up to 18 months with no clear path forward.

The Luciano Spalletti Giallorossi led side finished their campaign in the Serie A with 83 goals in 38 games. The average of more than two goals per game was a record no other club could match even though some other clubs came close.

According to the Automatenherz website, the club is really now looking at strengthening its defenses. Roma is considering signing Newcastle midfielder Georgino Wijnaldum. The Holland International is just 26 years of age and could be acquired this summer for an offer that hovers around the €15 million mark.

The club is focused on winning the Serie A and moving beyond their limits in the continental season in their next campaign. The finished in third place but were knocked out of the Coppa Italia in the round of 16 and even disgraced out of the UEFA Champions League group stage.

The club are also involved in the transfer market as they hope to add to the current crop of players. They are also determined to keep their top players despite offers from other clubs. Mohammed Salah was the highest goal scorer with his 14 goals in the Serie A but the club is interested in keeping the player going into next season.
