AS Roma manager Jose Mourinho and his players would test their Serie A title credentials when they take on Sassuolo at home this weekend. Roma and Sassuolo will face each other in one of the round three games on Sunday as far as the new Italian Serie A season is concerned.

EURO 2020 STAR OFFERED TO ROMA

Sampdoria attacker MikkelDamsgaard has been offered to AS Roma by club president, Massimo Ferrero. Ferrero told Corrieredello Sport about Damsgaard and Roma in an exclusive interview.

Sampdoria president Ferrero is a fan of AS Roma and he invited them for talks for Damsgaard. He confirmed this during the aforementioned interview. Ferrero is certain that Damsgaard would be a good addition to the AS Roma squad under manager Jose Mourinho. Portuguese tactician Mourinho became the new AS Roma manager earlier this summer. His last managerial job before Roma was in the Premier League with Tottenham Hotspur. Mourinho was sacked as the Spurs boss towards the end of last season.

PATRICIO ‘AGREES TERMS’ WITH ROMA – REPORT

Wolves goalkeeper Rui Patricio has reportedly agreed personal terms with Italian Serie A club AS Roma as he closes in on a move to Italy. The news of the salary agreement with capital team Roma was revealed by Football Insider. It was reported that the Portuguese shot stopper has agreed to the three-year contract offered to him by Roma.

Roma have a new manager in the controversial Jose Mourinho and they are keen to bolster the playing squad with quality players for him to make a significant impact in the new season and Portugal national team shot stopper Rui Patricio is one of the quality transfer targets for the club.

ROMA RECOVER FROM EUROPA LEAGUE HEARTACHE

Italian Serie A capital club AS Roma recovered from the Europa League heartache at the hands of Premier League giants Manchester United with the big win over Crotone at the weekend.

Roma were beaten convincingly in the semi-final tie with the Red Devils. Roma led 2-1 in the first half of the first leg encounter in Manchester only to concede five goals in the second half to lose the game 6-2. Roma went on to win the second leg 3-2 after coming from behind.

AS Roma have joined the race to sign Southampton defender JannikVestergaardaccording to the publication from Italian news outlet Tuttomercatoweb. It was disclosed that Italian Serie A champions Juventus and North London club Tottenham Hotspur want to sign the Danish international centre back ahead of this summer's transfer window.

Saints defender Vestergaardhas established himself as an integral part of the Premier League outfit since joining from Borussia Moenchengladbachin the summer of 2018.

The 6ft 6in defender played 42 times for the Saints in his first two seasons in the Premier League and has featured 24 times in the same competition this season. He has been in good form for Southampton this season especially in the first half before picking up a knee problem.

ROMA MAINTAIN UCL CHASE WITH VICTORY

AS Roma are one of several teams chasing down the Champions League places in the Italian Serie A this season. The Italian capital club has had to endure Europa League football for some seasons but a return to the UEFA Champions League (UCL) is a possibility at the moment with the team currently in the top four places needed to guarantee Champions League football for next season. Roma started the weekend outside the top four spots on the league table as the likes of league leaders Inter Milan, AC Milan, Juventus and Atalanta occupied those places.Roma knew that a win over Genoa in the early kickoff will take them above Atalanta into fourth place and that was exactly what happened. Roma were able to secure the win needed over relegation threatened Genoa to seal fourth place ahead of UEFA Champions League campaigners Atalanta.

EVERTON BOSS EYEING ROMA DEFENDER

Everton manager Carlo Ancelotti is keen on a summer transfer swoop on AS Roma defender Gianluca Mancini as he continues to build a strong squad capable of challenging the big teams in the Premier League. The interest of Carlo Ancelotti in AS Roma centre back Gianluca Mancini was revealed by Italian newspaper Leggo.


It was revealed that Everton boss Carlo Ancelotti is already looking at the players to sign in the summer to boost his squad ahead of next season and he has already identified Italian international Gianluca Mancini. Gianluca Mancini is a regular for AS Roma under manager Pablo Fonseca in the Italian Serie A.

SERIE A: ROMA INTO TOP THREE

Italian capital club AS Roma have moved into the top three on the Serie A standings for the first time this season following the nervy win over Cagliari in their last league game on Wednesday.


AS Roma came out on the victorious side of a five-goal thriller with Cagliari at home in whatwas a matchday 14 encounter. Roma started matchday 14 in fifth place but they were able to capitalise on the failings of champions Juventus and Napoli to climb into third spot on the table. Napoli could only play a 1-1 draw at home to struggling Torino, while Italian Serie A holders Juventus were beaten 3-0 at home by Fiorentina.

ROMA DUO DOUBTFUL FOR TORINO CLASH

Italian capital club AS Roma might be without two of their defenders for the visit of struggling Torino in the league on Thursday night. Roma play hosts to Torino at the Stadio Olimpico and the centre back duo of Gianluca Mancini and MarashKumbulla are doubtful for the game.


Summer signing Kumbullawas forced off early during the league win at Bologna at the weekend. MarashKumbulla missed the majority of the Bologna game which ended in a 5-1 away win for Roma.
